MOFCOM and Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia Sign MOU on Strengthening Cooperation and Mutual Understanding in the Context of Third-Country Trade Measures

Recently, Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Cooperation and Mutual Understanding in the Context of Third-Country Trade Measures.

The two sides agreed to maintain open and constructive dialogue on matters of mutual interest relating to third-country trade measures, and to enhance communication, mutual understanding, and transparency regarding the interpretation and implementation of measures that may affect bilateral economic and trade relations.

The Cambodian side expressed that its trade arrangements with third parties will not affect any agreements signed with China, or will they harm China’s interests. Cambodia does not take, and will not adopt or implement, any discriminatory measures targeting or materially targeting China that impede China-ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.

The signing of the MOU reflects the long-standing friendship, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, and deep-rooted, enduring political, economic, and people-to-people ties between China and Cambodia. It will help the two sides further strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding, and is of great significance to build a new era, all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future based on respect for sovereignty, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation.
