From July 7 to 10, the second round of negotiations on the enhancement of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was held in Geneva, Switzerland. The two sides held in-depth discussions on a wide range of topics, including trade in goods, trade in services, investment, rules of origin, trade facilitation, competition, trade and environment, as well as economic and technical cooperation. The negotiations achieved positive progress.
The China-Switzerland FTA was signed in July 2013 and entered into force in July 2014. It has played an important role in promoting bilateral trade and investment growth. The two countries launched the FTA enhancement negotiations in September 2024 and held the first round in Beijing in March 2025.
