Q: Recently, the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters, together with the China Mining Association (CMA), the China Iron & Steel Association, and nearly 30 enterprises, jointly launched a self-discipline initiative for sustainable development in overseas mineral resources cooperation. What is MOFCOM’s comment on this? (MOFCOM Regular Press Conference September 17, 2026)
A: We appreciate this initiative. The green and sustainable development of mineral resources has become an important direction for global mining cooperation. MOFCOM encourages and supports mineral enterprises in conscientiously practicing the concept of sustainable development, deepening international economic and trade cooperation on green minerals, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
