A: To safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, and in response to the U.S. government’s egregious practice of adding certain Chinese enterprises to the so-called list of “Chinese military companies”, MOFCOM issued an announcement on June 22, adding 10 U.S. entities including Aveox, Inc., in accordance with the law, into the Export Restricted Namelist and prohibiting the export of dual-use items to these entities. On the same day, the Ministry of Finance issued a notice prescribing that products manufactured by 46 U.S. companies shall not be purchased in government procurement activities.

The U.S. government’s practice of expanding the so-called list of “Chinese military companies” has seriously harmed the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, and China has no choice but to take countermeasures. The above-mentioned U.S. companies are all military-related enterprises. We urge the U.S. to immediately stop its wrongful practices, pull with China in the same direction, and endeavor to uphold and develop a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability.
