In Oct., national consumer price index was 0.9 percentage point down than Sep., and 3 main reasons were weak lagging effect, falling of food price and steady fall in price of industrial consumer goods. It was predicted that in Nov. and Dec., consumer price index would continue falling.

According to analysis, general price level was up by 4.3%, of which 1.6% growth was driven by price rising in last year and 1% slower than that in Sep. Because of growth in supply of grain, live pigs, eggs, and falling demand for subsidiary food after National Day, price of food was down by 0.5% compared with that in Sep. Nevertheless, due to fierce competition, price of home appliance and service, transportation and communication kept falling, down by 0.1% and 0.2% respectively compared with Sep.
