China and the ASEAN (Association of South East Asia Nations) have established the China-ASEAN Women Training Center, a substantial fruit of the effort of both China and countries ASEAN in carrying out the China-ASEAN Declaration of Women's Friendship issued last year.
According to analysts in Nanning, the establishment of the center means the exchanges and cooperation between women in China and the ten ASEAN countries have entered a new stage.

In October 2006, China and the ASEAN held a forum with the theme of intensifying women cooperation and promoting common development, in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, south China.

The forum adopted the China-ASEAN Declaration of Women's Friendship and suggested that China and ASEAN nations should establish women training centers and help enhance the capability of women.

Observers say the center features the principle and spirit of the declaration and also serves as a new channel for women in China and ASEAN countries to cooperate closely and achieve win-win results in China-ASEAN cooperation.

More than 300 representatives from China and the ten ASEAN countries attended the launching ceremony of the center on Saturday in Nanning.
