E.U., U.S., and Japan Remain China's Top Three Trading Partners Tuesday,June 19,2007 Posted: 06:09 BJT(2209 GMT)  MOFCOM According to Customs statistics released on June 11, during the first five months of 2007, China’s bilateral trade with its major trading partners has seen a stable growth. E.U., U.S., and Japan remained China’s top three trading partners. Statistics showed that during the first five months of 2007, the Sino-E.U. bilateral trade reached 129.87 bn USD, up by 29%, which enabled E.U. to maintain China’s largest trading partner. U.S. and Japan were China’s second and third largest trading partners respectively. The Sino-U.S. bilateral trade totaled 115.17 bn USD, an 18.2% increase, followed by the Sino-Japan bilateral trade, which was valued at 91.24 bn USD, up by 15.5%. ASEAN remained China’s fourth largest trading partner with 75.29 bn USD, which went up by 27.5%. Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shanghai remained China’s top 3 provinces and cities in foreign trade. Statistics indicated that during the first five months of 2007, the total trade volume of Guangdong Province reached 230.96 bn USD, up by 22.2%, which accounted for 28.8% of China’s total import and export volume during the corresponding period. Meanwhile, import and export of Jiangsu and Shanghai totaled 131.18 bn and 106.21 bn USD respectively, up by 25.7% and 22.9%, which ranked the second and third place in China’s foreign trade.
