Made-in-China Bicycles Exported Through Xinjiang Port Enjoyed a Big Market in Kazakhstan Friday,October 13,2006 Posted: 08:14 BJT(0014 GMT)  MOFCOM According to statistics from Urumqi Customs, in the first 7 months, Xinjiang Port totally exported 129 thousand bicycles with a value of US$3.549 million, up by 2.32 times and 2.31 times respectively compared with the same period of the previous year. Major export markets covered Afghanistan and Pakistan based on the original ones which were Kazakstan and Kirghizia. And the export to Kazakstan reached US$3.43 million, up by 2.3 times and accounting for 96% of total exports of such products through Xinjiang Port during the same period. Main reasons for the increase of export of bicycles through Xinjiang Port were: the large-scale production of China's bicycle industry, optimized structure of the industry, good reputation and strong international competitiveness.
