The First Chinese Goods, Technology and Services Expo (Africa) (hereinafter referred to as the “Expo”) hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by Foreign Trade Development Bureau, was held successfully in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia from December 5 to December 8.

More than 150 domestic enterprises attended the Expo. Well-known enterprises like Huawei, ZTE, POWERCHINA, CHINA GEZHOUBA GROUP CORPORATION, China Machinery Engineering Corporation, SINOSTEEL, WEICHAI POWER, Lifan Group, Chery Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and QIAN JIANG GROUP have set up DIY booth to intensively display their products, technologies and services. 34, 000 visitors from Ethiopia, South Africa, Egypt and Djibouti had attended the Expo.

African Union spoke highly of the Expo and regarded the same as a major move for China under the framework of China –Africa Cooperation Forum. China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, exhibition organizers from Fujian Province, Shandong Province, Hunan Province and Shenzhen City all agree that the Expo has been effectively organized with good public service and deem the Expo as one of the best Expos in emerging markets over the recent years.

During the Expo, China-Ethiopia Industrial and Commercial Cooperation Forum, China-Ethiopia Electronic Power and Energy Cooperation Forum, China-Ethiopia Agricultural Cooperation Forum and China-Ethiopia Cooperation Achievements Exhibition were also held.
