I. The Mainland-Macao Trade

The Mainland-Macao trade in January-March 2017 amounted to US$615 million, going down 16.3% on a year-on-year basis. The mainland’s export to Macao was valued as US$593 million, down 14.84% on a year-on-year basis, and the mainland’s import from Macao was US$22 million, down 42.79% on a year-on-year basis.

In March 2017, the Mainland-Macao trade volume amounted to US$236 million, going down 16.31% year on year and up 38.04% month on month. The mainland’s export to Macao was valued as US$226 million, down 12.49% year on year and up 36.84% month on month, and the mainland’s import from Macao was US$10 million, down 32.75% year on year and up 72.69% month on month.

II. Investment from Macao

In January-March 2017, 156 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going up 105.26% year on year. The actual use of Macao capital was US$309 million, increasing 67.77% month on month.

In March 2017, 54 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going up 28.57% month on month. The actual use of Macao capital amounted to US$246 million, going up 392% month on month.

By the end of March 2017, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the mainland were 15,230 with the actual use of US$13.911 billion. In terms of the utilized capital, the funds from Macao took up 0.77% of the total foreign capital in the mainland.

III. Investment in Macao

In January-March 2017, the mainland made a non-financial direct investment of US$21 million in Macao. By the end of March 2017, the mainland’s accumulative non-financial direct investment in Macao had amounted to US$2.207 billion.

IV. Foreign Economic Cooperation

In January-March 2017, the mainland had 6 contracted projects in Macao with a combined value of US$86.37 million. The turnover amounted to US$358 million. By the end of March 2017, the number of laborers dispatched to Macao was 121,414 and the accumulated turnover was US$14.137 billion.
