I. The Mainland-Macao Trade

The Mainland-Macao trade in January-February 2017 amounted to US$380 million, going down 17.9% on a year-on-year basis. The mainland’s export to Macao was valued as US$370 million, down 16.2% on a year-on-year basis, and the mainland’s import from Macao was US$10 million, down 49.0% on a year-on-year basis.

In February 2017, the Mainland-Macao trade volume amounted to US$170 million, going up 14.9% year on year and down 18.5% month on month. The mainland’s export to Macao was valued as US$164 million, up 17.3% year on year and down 18.8% month on month, and the mainland’s import from Macao was US$6 million, down 24.6% year on year and down 11.4% month on month.

II. Macao’s Investment

In January-February 2017, 102 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going up 155% year on year. The actual use of Macao capital was US$60 million, decreasing 33.3% month on month.

In February 2017, 42 Macao-invested projects were approved by the mainland, going up 200% month on month. The actual use of Macao capital amounted to US$50 million, going down 64.3% month on month.

By the end of February 2017, the accumulated Macao-invested projects approved by the mainland were 15,176 with the actual use of US$13.67 billion. In terms of the utilized capital, the funds from Macao took up 0.8% of the total foreign capital in the mainland.

III. Investment in Macao

In January-February 2017, the mainland made a non-financial direct investment of US$4.39 million in Macao. By the end of February 2017, the mainland’s accumulative non-financial direct investment in Macao had amounted to US$2.19 billion.

IV. Foreign Economic Cooperation

In January-February 2017, the mainland had 4 contracted projects in Macao with a combined value of US$19.28 million. The turnover amounted to US$310 million. By the end of February 2017, the number of laborers dispatched to Macao was 120,912 and the accumulated turnover was US$14.07 billion.
