I. Mainland-Hong Kong Trade
The mainland-Hong Kong trade volume in January-February 2017 amounted to US$36.57 billion, down 1.5% year on year, accounting for 6.5% of the mainland's total foreign trade volume. The mainland's export to Hong Kong was US$35.46 billion, up 1.5% year on year, and its import from Hong Kong was US$1.11 billion, down 48.9% year on year. Hong Kong is the 6th largest trade partner and the 4th largest export market of the mainland.
In February 2017, the mainland-Hong Kong trade volume was US$16.76 billion, up 12.7% year on year and down 15.4%% month on month. The mainland's export to Hong Kong was US$16.22 billion, up 13.6% year on year and down 15.7% month on month, while its import from Hong Kong was US$540 million, down 8.5% year on year and down 5.3% month on month.
II. Investment from Hong Kong
In January-February 2017, a total of 1,847 Hong Kong-funded projects were approved in the mainland, up 13.8% year on year. The actually utilized Hong Kong capital was US$14.94 billion, up 27.5% year on year.
By the end of February 2017, as many as 400,813 Hong Kong-invested projects had been approved in the mainland, and the actually utilized Hong Kong capital was US$929.73 billion, accounting for 52% of the total capital amount of foreign investment in the mainland according to the statistics of the actual use of foreign investment.
III. Investment in Hong Kong
In January-February 2017, the non-financial direct investment in Hong Kong reached US$6.46 billion, accounting for 48.1% of the total US$13.43 billion. By the end of February 2017, the mainland's non-financial direct investment in Hong Kong had accumulated to US$498.62 billion, accounting for 52.8% of the total investment stock.
IV. Mainland-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation
In January-February 2017, the mainland had 28 contractual projects in Hong Kong with a total value of US$1.14 billion and a completed turnover of US$0.72 billion. The laborers dispatched to Hong Kong numbered 46,499. By the end of February 2017, the mainland's accumulated turnover in Hong Kong had reached US$63.1 billion.
