Romania-China Trade Report from January to June, 2021

According to Romania, from January to June 2021, Romania-China trade volume was USD3.823 billion, an increase of 25.54% year-on-year, with China being its 7th largest trading partner worldwide and the largest one outside Europe. Romania imported USD3.353 billion of goods from China, up by 23.31% year-on-year, with China being its 5th largest source of imports (the top 4 were Germany, Italy, Hungary and Poland). Romania mainly imported mechanical and electrical products, nuclear reactors and boilers, optical equipment, furniture and bedding, plastics and products from China. Romania’s exports to China totaled USD 0.47 billion, up by 44.14% year-on-year, with China being its 20th largest destination of exports. Main exports included wood products, mechanical and electrical products, nuclear reactors and boilers and optical equipment.

According to China, from January to June 2021, China-Romania trade volume was USD5.049 billion, an increase of 52.18% year-on-year, with Romania being China’s 63rd largest trading partner. In breakdown, China’s exports to Romania reached USD3.169 billion, up by 38.69% year-on-year. Romania is China’s 53rd largest destination of exports, with nuclear reactors and boilers, mechanical and electrical products, optical equipment, vehicles and parts and furniture and bedding being the main exported goods. China imported USD1.882 billion of goods from Romania, up by 81.96% year-on-year. Romania is China’s 62nd largest source of imports, with vehicles and parts, mechanical and electrical equipment and components, nuclear reactors and boilers and optical equipment being the main imported goods.
