China-Romania trade in January 2021

According to Romanian statistics, trade volume between China and Romania reached USD550 million in January 2021, up 4.1% year-on-year, making China the 8th largest trading partner of Romania and the second largest outside the EU. Romania’s import from China reached USD490 million, up by 2.9% year-on-year. China is the 5th largest import source of Romania, after Germany, Italy, Hungary and Poland, and the main imports are mechanical and electrical products, nuclear reactors and boilers, other textiles and optical equipment. Romania’s exports to China amounted to 0.6 billion USD, up 15.7% year-on-year, with China being its 23rd largest export destination. The main exports are electromechanical products, timber, nuclear reactors and boilers, optical equipment, etc.

According to China’s statistics, trade volume between China and Romania was USD810 million, up 28.8% year-on-year, with Romania being China's 61st largest trading partner. Among them, China's exports to Romania amounted to USD 540 million, up 13.5% year-on-year, with Romania as its 55th largest export destination. The main exports include nuclear reactors and boilers, electromechanical products, other textiles, optical equipment, vehicles and parts. China's imports from Romania amounted to USD270 million, up 75.3% year-on-year, with Romania being its 64th largest import source. Main imports include electromechanical products and audio equipment, optical equipment, nuclear reactors and boilers, vehicles and parts.
