Statistics on China-Africa Bilateral Trade in January 2018

According to the statistics by China Customs, in January 2018, the import and export value of China-Africa trade amounted to US$16.5 billion, up 13.7% year on year, 21.9% lower than that over the same period of last year. Among these, China’s exports to Africa reached US$8.31 billion, down 4.7%; China’s imports from Africa reached US$8.19 billion, , up 41.4%; the trade surplus was US$130 million, down 95.7% year on year.

In January, the growth of Chins’s trade with Africa was lower than other continent except Oceania while the import growth was remarkable, 4.6 percentage points higher than that over the same period of last year.
