Briefings on China-Indonesia Trade in January 2019

Indonesia’s Central Bureau of Statistics released the trade report on February 15. In January 2019, Indonesia’s foreign trade volume was US$28.9 billion, down 3.2% year on year, among which the exports totaled US$13.87 billion, down 4.7% year on year and the imports totaled US$15.03 billion, down 1.8% year on year. The accumulative trade deficit was US$1.16 billion.

In January 2019, the trade volume of non-oil and gas products between China and Indonesia was US$5.85 billion, up 3.0%. Among these, Indonesia’s exports to China, its largest export destination, totaled US$1.71 billion, down 11.0% year on year, accounting for 13.5% of its total exports; Indonesia’s imports from China, its largest source of imports, totaled US$4.14 billion, up 10.1% year on year, accounting for 31.0% of its total imports.
