China’s investment and cooperation with BRI countries from January to October 2020

From January to October 2020, the non-financial direct investment in 57 BRI countries by Chinese enterprises was RMB 98.34 billion, an increase of 24.8% year-on-year (equivalent to US$ 14.11 billion, an increase of 23.1% year-on-year), accounting for 16.3% of the total in the same period. It increased by 3.6 percentage points over the same period of last year, mainly to Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh and other countries.

In terms of engineering contracted projects, Chinese enterprises signed 3,838 contracts for engineering contracted projects in 61 BRI countries, with a contractual value of RMB 644.72 billion, accounting for 55.5% of the newly signed contracts for engineering contracted projects in China during the same period, down 16.4% year-on-year (equivalent to US$ 92.51 billion, down 17.5% year-on-year); The turnover was RMB 423.31 billion, accounting for 58.5% of the total in the same period, down 3.1% year on year (equivalent to US$ 60.74 billion, down 4.4% year on year).
