According to statistics of the Ministry of Commerce and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, from January to August, 2020, China’s all-sector overseas direct investment was RMB604.14 billion, up 2.1% (US$86.11 billion, down 0.7%) year-on-year. Specifically, China’s non-financial direct investment in 4,990 overseas businesses from 164 countries and regions amounted to RMB480.45 billion, down 2.6% (US$68.48 billion, down 5.2%) year-on-year.
