Statistics of FDI in January-November 2012

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, from January to November 2012, Newly Approved Foreign-invested Enterprises amounted to 22,503, down by 10.3% year on year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD 100.022 billion, down by 3.61% year on year.

According to the statistics of news release of foreign investment, in November 2012, Newly Approved Foreign-invested Enterprises amounted to 2,482, down by 8.68% year on year; and the actual use of foreign investment reached USD 8.285 billion, down by 5.39% year on year.

In January-November, 2012, the number of newly established enterprises funded by ten Asian countries/regions (Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, ROK) was 17,893, down by 10.76% year on year, and the actual input were US$ 85.067 billion, down by 5.04% year on year. The number of newly established enterprises funded by US was 1,247, down by 8.38% year on year, and the actual input were US$ 2.912 billion, up by 6.32% year on year. Number of enterprises funded by EU was 1,566, up by 0.77% year on year, and the actual input was US$ 5.81 billion, down by 2.88% year on year.

From January to November this year, the top ten nations and regions with investment in China (as per the actual input of foreign capital) are as follows: Hong Kong (US$ 62.8 billion), Japan (US$ 6.608 billion), Singapore (US$ 6.044 billion), Taiwan Province (US$ 5.737 billion), U.S.A. (US$ 2.912 billion), R.O.K. (US$ 2.686 billion), Germany (US$ 1.391 billion), Holland (US$ 1.084 billion), U.K. (US$ 942 million) and Swiss Confederation (US$ 835 million), total of which accounted for 91.02% of total actual use of foreign investment in the country.

Note: The figures cover investment in China by the said countries/regions transferred from free ports of Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Samoa, Mauritius and Barbados.
