The 27th China-Spain Joint Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee Held in Madrid
  

On November 6, China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying and the State Secretary of Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness Poncera co-hosted the 27th China-Spain Joint Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee in Madrid. Focusing on the consensuses of the two countries. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening economic and trade cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road, expanding bilateral trade, promoting investment cooperation, exploring the third-party markets and deepening the economic and trade relationship between China and Europe, and broad consensuses have been reached.

Fu said that in recent years, the meetings between the two countries’ leaders have greatly promoted the development of China-Spain relationship. The 19th CPC National Congress has drawn a blue print for China’s development in the future and provided a historic opportunity for deepening the cooperation between China and Spain. China hopes to import more quality products from Spain and welcomes Spain’s participation in the 1st China International Import Expo. China will continue to encourage competitive Chinese enterprises to invest in Spain and both sides should give full play to respective advantages and explore the third-party markets jointly.

Poncera said that Spain is walking out of its economic crisis. We hope to further expand the export to China and broaden cooperation in commercial manufacture, environmental protection, renewable energy sources, foods and spaceflight areas which are the competitive industries of Spain. Spain would like to endeavor to make greater achievements in bilateral economic and trade cooperation together with China.

Before the meeting, Fu met with the President of National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC in Spanish) Marin. Besides, he attended the breakfast meeting with people of the Spanish business circle. Both sides signed the memorandum of understanding on anti-monopoly cooperation.
