In face of the situation and problems of the direct selling industry, MOFCOM has suspended the approval and record-filing procedures for direct selling, and is working with applicable authorities to straighten out the market for health products.

We will take a comprehensive review of the direct selling industry in the nation, step up regulation over direct sellers, and work with related authorities to penalize, in a law-abiding manner, the operators that violate laws and regulations, for the benefit of the public and consumers.

Based on the efforts to straighten out the market, we will work to improve direct-selling related legislation, strengthen cooperation with related authorities to control market access, build at a faster pace a credit-centered regulatory framework, establish a black list for discredited direct sellers and players, increase the cost for violation of laws and dishonest behaviors, so that the industry develops healthily and steadily.
