On June 12, President Xi Jinping held a historic meeting with Honduran President Xiomara Castro. The two sides issued a joint statement, announcing the consensus on negotiating a free trade agreement between the two countries and promoting pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

China and Honduras have strong economic complementarities and great potential for cooperation.
