MOFCOM Announcement No.55 of 2014 on Termination of Anti-dumping Measures Applicable to Imports of Pyrocatechol originated in the EU

On August 25, 2009, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No.53 of 2009, deciding to continue to impose anti-dumping measures against imports of pyrocatechol originated in the EU in accordance with Announcement No. 41 of 2003, Announcement 61 of 2005 and Announcement No. 63 of 2008 for a period of five years since August 26, 2009.

On February 21, 2014, the Ministry of Commerce issued Announcement No. 13 of 2014, announcing that the above-mentioned anti-dumping measures will expire on August 25, 2014. As of the date of the announcement, any natural person, legal person or relevant organization in or on behalf of the domestic industry may, at least 60 days prior to the expiration of such anti-dumping measures, file a written application for expiry review to the Ministry of Commerce.

No applications have been made for expiry review by the domestic industry of pyrocatechol within the specified time limit of the announcement, and the Ministry of Commerce has also decided not to take the initiative to launch the investigation of expiry review. Therefore, the anti-dumping measures applicable to the imports of pyrocatechol originated in the EU will be terminated as of August 26, 2014.
