This statistics here has been made according to the statistical report forms from the enterprises of foreign trade and economic cooperation, which are administrated by the corresponding Commissions/Departments/Bureaus of foreign trade and economic cooperation, and central administration commissions of the enterprises. The total turnover of contracts of foreign projects, labor cooperation service and designing consultation service from January to August in 2000 amount to US$ 6.27928 billion, with an increase of 7.1% above that of the same period, last year. Of the total turnover, the turnover of the contracts of foreign projects add up to US$ 4.49120 billion with an increase of 3%; the turnover of labor cooperation service reach US$ 1.75148 billion with an increase of 19.7%; and the turnover of designing consultation service is US$ 36.6 million with a decrease of 9.7%. 15,279 contracts were newly signed with a total value of US$ 9.1781 billion with an increase of 25.5%, among which, the value of contracts of foreign projects is US$ 7.23379 billion with an increase of 17.4%; the value of labor cooperation service is US$ 1.85801 billion with an increase of 25.5%; and the value of designing consultation services is US$ 86.12 million with an increase of 17.4%. By the end of August, labors abroad amount to 397,749 , increasing by 50,748 labors.

The value of equipment and materials abroad is US$ 424.31 million with an increase of 1% from January to August.
