On March 18, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with President and CEO of The Estee Lauder Companies Fabrizio Freda. The two sides had exchanges on China-U.S. trade and economic relations and Estée Lauder’s development in China.

Wang Wentao stressed that China is committed to high-standard opening-up and to fostering a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based and up to international standards. China has taken steps to facilitate travels to China and respond to reasonable concerns of foreign-invested enterprises in China, including U.S. businesses. China’s supersize middle-income group represents a market unleashing immense potential. U.S. companies, including Estée Lauder, are welcome to stay in China, share in the dividends offered by China’s opening-up, development and massive market, and deliver greater benefits to the Chinese and American people.

Fabrizio Freda said that Estée Lauder cherishes its achievements over the past more than thirty years in China and regards China as one of its fastest growing markets globally. Estée Lauder is ready to further tap into the Chinese market and provide better products and services to Chinese consumers.
