On August 31, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with President Patrice Talon of Benin in Beijing to exchange views on ways to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state and deepen practical trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Talon said China has become an important economic and trading partner of Benin. Benin wants to draw on China's experience in economic development by opening up further, so as to attract more Chinese enterprises to invest and prosper in Benin, and take bilateral cooperation to a higher level to deliver tangible results.
Wang said that under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China and Benin have achieved fruitful cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure and development assistance. To promote high-quality development of the bilateral trade and economic relations, China will work on the steady implementation of the Nine Projects for China-Africa cooperation, the G20 Initiative on Supporting for Industrialization in Africa, the Plan for China supporting Africa’s Agricultural Modernization, and the plan for China-Africa Cooperation on Talent Development.
