Vice Minister Ling Ji of China and Deputy Minister Taras Kachka of Ukraine co-chaired the 7th meeting of the subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation under the China-Ukraine Inter-government Cooperation Committee

On July 20th, Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Taras Kachka, Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture and Trade Representative of Ukraine, co-chaired the 7th meeting of the subcommittee on trade and economic cooperation under the China-Ukraine Inter-government Cooperation Committee.

Ling Ji expressed China’s readiness to work with Ukraine for win-win trade and economic cooperation, and move forward the strategic partnership between the two countries. China is willing to increase imports of quality goods from Ukraine, work on the feasibility study of free trade, and strengthen cooperation with Ukraine under the WTO framework. China is also ready to build partnership between the investment promotion agencies of the two countries to unlock the potential in trade and investment. China expects Ukraine to take concrete measures to safeguard the security of workers and properties of Chinese firms in Ukraine, and defend their legitimate interests.

Kachka communicated that as an important partner under the Belt and Road Initiative, Ukraine is fully committed to growing trade and economic relations with China. Ukraine hopes to increase export of agricultural products to China, and will make greater efforts in ensuring the security of Chinese firms in Ukraine. Kachka also expressed willingness to work with China to drive the healthy and sustained development of bilateral trade and economic relations.
