Minister Wang Wentao met with Michel Doukeris, AB InBev's CEO

On February 24, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Michel Doukeris, AB InBev's CEO. The two sides exchanged views on China's commitment to high-standard opening-up and expansion of consumption, among other issues.

Wang Wentao said that the 20th CPC National Congress drew a blueprint for advancing national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization. The modernization of China, with a population of more than 1.4 billion, will bring great development opportunities to global enterprises. It is hoped that AB InBev will stay committed to the Chinese market and further enhance pragmatic cooperation with China.

Wang Wentao pointed out that the Government of China will promote high-standard opening up, continue to foster a market- and law-based and internationalized business environment, implement the strategy of expanding domestic demand, and bolster market confidence. The CIIE is the world’s first import expo. AB InBev is welcome to actively participate in the CIIE and share the dividend of China’s economic development.

Michel Doukeris said that AB InBev highly values the Chinese market, and this visit to China has further strengthened the company's confidence in increasing its investment in China. AB InBev will increase its Chinese investment, actively consider participating in the CIIE, and develop together with the Chinese market.
