On April 10, 2022, the Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macao) was successfully held in Macao. Premier Li Keqiang attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the conference via video link. Government delegates from China and eight Portuguese-speaking countries, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe and Timor Leste, participated in the relevant activities of the conference online and on-site. Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce, led the Chinese delegation to attend the extraordinary conference at the Beijing sub-venue and delivered a speech. He signed the Joint Statement of the Extraordinary Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao and the Statement of Forum Macao on the Admission of Equatorial Guinea with the participants.

The main activities include the opening ceremony, the extraordinary conference and a plaque-unveiling ceremony for the new China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Exchange Centre for Epidemic Prevention.
