MOFCOM Publishes Preliminary Ruling of Anti-Dumping Investigation on certain imported wines originating from Australia

On November 27, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) published its preliminary ruling of the anti-dumping investigation on certain imported wines originating from Australia in Announcement No. 59 of 2020. The ruling finds that certain wines imported from Australia was dumped, causing material damage to the Chinese wine industry, and there is a causal link between the two. It is decided that, as of November 28, 2020, a cash deposit at rates between 107.1% and 212.1% for businesses will be collected for the products above as a temporary anti-dumping measure.

Based on petitions filed by the Chinese wine industry, MOFCOM published an announcement on August 18, 2020, launching anti-dumping investigations on certain imported wines originating from Australia. After filing of the case, MOFCOM has carried out investigations strictly in accordance to relevant Chinese laws and regulations, as well as relevant WTO rules, and has made the above preliminary ruling.

The tariff line of the product is 22042100 under the Customs Import and Export Tariff of the People's Republic of China.
