Liu He to Chair the 8th China-EU High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue

As agreed by China and the EU, Liu He, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, will co-chair the 8th China-EU High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue via video linkwith Executive Vice President of the European Commission ValdisDombrovskison July 28. The two sides will engage in in-depth discussions under the theme of “Post-COVID-19 China-EU Cooperation, Promote Steady Recovery and Growth for Global Economy”.

A mechanism for dialogue between China and the EU to exchange and coordinate their economic and trade policies, the China-EU High-level Economic and Trade Dialogue (HED), since its inception in 2007, has been held seven times, playing animportant role in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and addressing concerns betweenthe two sides. This year’s HED bears even greater significance, as China and the EUcelebrate the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in the face of a world economy severely disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
