Joint Statement on the Entry into Force of the Agreement on Economic and Trade Cooperation Between the People's Republic of China and the Eurasian Economic Union Signed on May 17, 2018 (Full Text)

(Xinhua News Agency/Beijing/October 25) Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and Prime Ministers of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union jointly issued the Joint Statement on the Entry into Force of the Agreement on Economic and Trade Cooperation Between the People's Republic of China and the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter referred to as Joint Statement). The full text of the Joint Statement is as follows:

Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and Prime Ministers of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union(Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council),

reiterate the traditional friendship and strong economic and trade relations between the People’s Republic of China and the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation),

look forward to improving the conditions for the two sides, developing mutual trade relations and promoting economic cooperation in areas of common concerns,

follow the open, continuous and predictable trade policies inclusively joined by all parties on the basis of non-discrimination principles,

announce that the Agreement on Economic and Trade Cooperation Between the People's Republic of China and the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter referred to as Agreement) formally comes into force,

believe that the entry into force of the Agreement is an important measure for building the space for common economic development, realizing the connection between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union, and the coordinated development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Eurasian Partnership Initiative,

believe that the Agreement will help the two sides to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and constructive dialogues in the economic and trade field,

and it is necessary to implement the provisions of the Agreement aiming at promoting bilateral trade and cooperation as soon as possible and ensure the due roles of the cooperation mechanism, including the Joint Commission of the Agreement.
