China-US High-Level Economic and Trade Consultations Concluded

BEIJING, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council and leader of the Chinese side of the China-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue Liu He, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin jointly held the sixth round of high-level economic and trade consultations in Beijing on February 14-15. The two sides earnestly implemented the consensus reached by the two heads of state during their meeting in Argentina, and had in-depth discussion on topics of mutual concerns including technology transfer, intellectual property rights protection, non-tariff barriers, the service industry, agriculture, trade balance and implementation mechanism. Both sides reached principle consensus on major issues and had specific discussions about the memorandum of understanding on bilateral economic and trade issues. The two sides said they will step up their work within the time limit for consultations set by the heads of both countries, and strive for consensus.

The two sides agreed that consultations will be continued in Washington next week.
