Prices of Edible Agricultural Products Continue to Fall and Prices of Means of Production Increase Slightly

According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (October 22-28), the national market price index of the edible agricultural products decreased by 0.6%, and the price index of the means of production increased by 0.4%.

In the market of edible agricultural products, the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.4 yuan per kilogram, down 3.5% over the previous week, with the prices of broccoli, cauliflower and asparagus lettuce decreasing the most by 14.3%, 12.2% and 11.3% respectively. The wholesale price of poultry continued to decrease. Among these, the prices of chicken and eggs were 16.21 yuan and 9.82 yuan per kilogram respectively, down 0.7% and 0.2% respectively over the previous week. The average wholesale price of aquatic products continued to decrease with the prices of large yellow croaker, big hairtail and crucian decreasing the most by 2.6%, 2.2% and 1.2% respectively. The wholesale prices of cereals fell slightly, with the price of rice down 0.2% and that of flour staying unchanged respectively. The wholesale price of edible oil increased slightly, with the prices of rapeseed oil and peanut oil up 0.2% and 0.1% respectively and that of soybean oil staying unchanged. The wholesale price of meat fluctuated slightly, and the price of pork was 21.07 yuan per kilogram, down 0.2% respectively and those of beef and mutton were 55.06 yuan and 53.38 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 0.5% and 1.2% respectively.

In the market of production means, the price of chemical fertilizer increased by 0.6%, with those of urea and NPK up 0.6% and 0.3% respectively. The price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 0.5%, with the price of sulphuric acid up 2%, and those of polypropylene, methyl alcohol and sodium carbonate down 1.2%, 0.4% and 0.2% respectively. The price of steel increased by 0.5%. Among these, the prices of screw-thread steel, high-speed wire rod and U-steel were 4458 yuan, 4547 yuan and 4407 yuan per ton respectively, up 0.6%, 0.6% and 0.3% respectively. The price of coal increased by 0.4%, among which the prices of coking coal, blind coal and steam coal were 777 yuan, 880 yuan and 607 yuan per ton respectively, up 1%, 0.4% and 0.3% respectively. The price of non-ferrous metal decreased by 0.4%, with the prices of copper and zinc down 0.8% and 0.3% respectively and that of aluminum up 0.1%. The price of rubber decreased by 1.2%, with those of natural rubber and synthetic rubber down 1.3% and 1.1% respectively.
