According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (August 20-26), the national market price of the edible agricultural products increased by 1.6% over the previous week and that of the means of production increased by 0.5% over the previous week.

In the market of the edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.17 yuan per kilogram, up 6.1% over the previous week, with the prices of lettuce, green beans and cucumber increasing the most by 26.3%, 14.8% and 13.8% respectively. The wholesale price of poultry continued to increase. Among these, the prices of egg, chicken and duck were 10.4 yuan, 16.3 yuan and 17.28 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 4.3%, 0.6% and 0.5% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of meat increased in general. Among these, the prices of beef and mutton were 53.07and 49.64 yuan per kilogram, up 0.5% and 0.3% respectively over the previous week; the price of pork was 20.12 yuan per kilogram, down 0.1%. The wholesale prices of cereals fluctuated slightly. The price of flour fell by 0.3% and that of rice fell by 0.2% over the previous week. The wholesale price of edible oil remained stable. Among these, the prices of soybean oil, peanut oil and rapeseed oil remained the same as those of last week. The wholesale price of aquatic products fell slightly. Among these, the prices of large hairtail, chub and grass carp decreased the most by 1%, 0.7% and 0.4% respectively over the previous week.

In the market of the production means: the price of non-ferrous metal increased by 1.3% over the previous week, with the prices of zinc, nickel, aluminum, lead, tin, copper up 3.6%, 1.9%, 1.6%, 1.5%, 0.9% and 0.5% respectively. The price of steel rose by 1.1%, among which the prices of high-speed wire rod, screw-thread steel, common round steel were 4457 yuan, 4354 yuan and 4423 yuan per ton respectively, up 1.4%, 1.4% and 1.1% respectively. The price of rubber rose by 0.3%, with the price of natural rubber up 1% and and that of synthetic rubber down 0.5%. The price of chemical fertilizer rose by 0.2%, with those of urea and KCL up 0.3% and 0.1% respectively and those of DAP and NPK staying unchanged. The price of basic chemical raw materials was stable, with the prices of caustic soda and methyl alcohol up 2% and 0.5% respectively and those of sulphuric acid and sodium carbonate down 1.4% and 0.4% respectively. The price of coal fell by 0.1%, among which the price of steam coal was 598 yuan per ton, down 0.2%, and the prices of blind coal and coking coal were 860 yuan and 748 yuan per ton, remaining the same as those of last week.
