According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (August 6-12), the national market prices of the edible agricultural products and the means of production both increased by 0.8% over the previous week.

In the market of the edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 3.89 yuan per kilogram, up 1.3% over the previous week, with the prices of summer squash, white radish, and celery increasing the most by 9.3%, 6.4% and 5.7% respectively. The wholesale price of meat continued to increase. Among these, the prices of pork, beef and mutton were 19.93、52.77 and 49.43 yuan per kilogram, up 1.5%, 0.1% and 0.4% respectively over the previous week. The wholesale price of poultry increased in general. Among these, the prices of eggs and chicken were 9.29 and16.07 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 3.7% and 0.1% respectively over the previous week; the price of duck was 17.16 yuan per kilogram, down 1.2%. The wholesale price of aquatic products fluctuated slightly. Among these, the prices of large hairtail, grass carp and crucian increased the most by 1.2%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively over the previous week; the prices of the little yellow croaker, chub and carp decreased the most by 1.4%、1% and 0.6% respectively. The wholesale price of edible oil remained stable in general. Among these, the price of rapeseed oil increased by 0.2% over the previous week; the price of soybean oil decreased by 0.1%; and the price of peanut oil remained unchanged. The wholesale prices of cereals fell slightly. The price of flour fell by 0.3% and that of rice remained unchanged.

In the market of the production means: the price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 1.2% over the previous week, with the prices of methyl alcohol, sodium carbonate, sulphuric acid and caustic soda up 3.1%、1.3%、0.7% and 0.4% respectively. The price of non-ferrous metal increased by 1%, with the prices of nickel, aluminum, zinc, copper up 2.7%, 1.7%, 0.9% and 0.6% respectively and those of tin and lead both down 0.2%. The price of steel rose by 0.7%, among which the prices of high-speed wire rod, screw-thread steel seamless steel pipe, common round steel were 4339 yuan, 4239 yuan, 5000 yuan and 4330 yuan per ton respectively, up 1%, 1%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively. The price of rubber rose by 0.7%, with the prices of synthetic rubber and natural rubber up 1% and 0.5% respectively. The price of coal increased by 0.1%, among which the price of steam coal was 599 yuan per ton, up 0.2%, the price of coking coal was 750 yuan per ton, down 0.1%, and the price of blind coal was 860 yuan per ton, remaining stable. The price of chemical fertilizer fell by 0.1%, with that of urea down 0.2%, with those of KCL and DAP up 0.2% and 0.1% respectively, and that of NPK staying unchanged.
