According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (July 23-29), the national market price index of the edible agricultural products increased by 0.9% and that of the means of production increased by 0.3% over the previous week.

In the market of edible agricultural products: the wholesale price of poultry increased in general. Among these, the prices of eggs, duck and chicken were 8.79 yuan, 17.35 yuan and 15.93 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 2.1%, 1.2% and 1% respectively. The average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 3.87 yuan per kilogram, up 1.6% over the previous week, with the prices of spinach, lettuce and Chinese chieves increasing the most by up 15.6%, 15.2% and 9.8% respectively. The wholesale price of meat continued to increase. Among these, the prices of pork, beef and mutton were 19.23 yuan, 52.76 yuan and 49.14 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 2.2%, 0.1% and 0.2% respectively. The average wholesale price of aquatic products increased slightly, with the prices of large yellow croaker, chub and little yellow croaker increasing the most by 1.7%, 0.8% and 0.7% respectively. The wholesale prices of grain and food fluctuated slightly, with that of rice up 0.4% over the previous week and that of flour down 0.3%. The wholesale price of edible oil fell in general, with those of soybean oil and peanut oil down 0.3% and 0.2% respectively and that of the rapeseed oil up 0.1%.

In the market of production means, the price of non-ferrous metal increased by 1.1% over the previous week, with the prices of copper, nickel, aluminum and tin up 2%, 1.4%, 1.4% and 0.3% respectively and those of zinc and lead down 1.4% and 0.8%. The price of steel increased by 0.7% over the previous week, and the prices of high-speed wire rod, screw-thread steel and seamless steel tube were 4253 yuan, 4154 yuan and 4942 yuan per ton respectively, up 0.9%, 0.9% and 0.7% respectively. The price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 0.3%, with the prices of sulphuric acid and methyl alcohol up 1.5% and 0.5% respectively and those of sodium carbonate and caustic soda down 1.3% and 0.3% respectively. The price of rubber remained stable in general, with the price of natural rubber down 0.5% and that of synthetic rubber up 0.6%. The price of coal decreased by 0.2%, among which the prices of steam coal and blind coal were 597 yuan and 860 yuan per ton respectively, both down 0.2%, and that of coking coal was 755 yuan per ton, staying unchanged. The price of chemical fertilizer decreased by 0.4%, with the prices of urea and NPK down 0.7% and 0.1% respectively and those of KCL and DAP staying stable.
