The 2nd JWG-TIEC Meeting of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation was held in Kunming, Yunnan province on June 19 2018. The meeting was jointly chaired by the rotating president of the work group （the head of the Investment Promotion Divison of the Development Council of Cambodia） and head of the Department of Asian Affairs of China’s Ministry of Commerce. Attending were about 50 people from the responsible commercial departments in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Thailand and China’s Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province and Yunnan Asia-Pacific Center.

All sides reviewed the trade and economic cooperation along the Belt and Road routes via the platform of Mekong-Lancang cooperation since the 2nd Leaders’ Meeting of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation in January 2018 and the 1st JWG-TIEC Meeting of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation in 2017, proposed plan and steps to implement the Ministerial Joint Statement on Strengthening Mekong-Lancang Economic Cooperation, exchanged views on the framework of Five-year Development Plan for Mekong-Lancang Economic Cooperation and Mekong-Lancang Regional Cooperation Smart Trade Network Initiative and reached consensus in principles. Besides, All sides held talks on further cooperation in the 1st China International Imports Expo, E-commerce, economic technology, industrial park construction and operation areas. After the meeting, head of work group of each country signed the minutes of the meeting.
