On June 7, 2018, under the witness of China’s President Xi Jinping, and the Kazakhstan President Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, China’s Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Kairat Kudaybergenovich Abdrakhmanov signed The Memorandum of Understanding on E-commerce Cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of National Economy of The Republic of Kazakhstan in Beijing.

Political mutual trust between the two countries has been gradually consolidated and economic and trade cooperation continuously deepened since China and Kazakhstan established their comprehensive strategic partnership seven years ago. As Kazakhstan is the initiative country for “belt and road”, the two countries have carried out numerous fruitful jobs to boost the “Belt and Road” Initiative and the strategic matchmaking with Kazakhstan’s new economic policy of “the glorious way” and the “third modernization” strategy. In recent years, rapid progresses have been made in bilateral economic and trade cooperation. In line with this memorandum, China and Kazakhstan will build up e-commerce cooperation mechanism, jointly boost the cooperation of silk road E-commerce, strengthen experience sharing, carry out personnel training and promote the dialogue between government and enterprises, support cooperation of enterprises of the two countries in e-commerce area and expand cross-border trade of featured products by e-commerce in particular, so as to offer more development opportunities and spaces to small and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries, continuously improve trade facilitation and cooperation level and further boost sustainable and steady development of bilateral economic and trade relationship.
