According to the watchdog of MOFCOM, last week (April 16-22), the national market price index of edible agricultural products decreased by 0.7% and that of the means of production increased by 0.6% over the previous week.

In the market of edible agricultural products: the average wholesale price of 30 kinds of vegetables was 4.29 yuan per kilogram, down 2.3% over the previous week, with the prices of chili, cucumber and zucchini down 10.7%, 10.6% and 7.5% respectively. The average wholesale price of aquatic products continue to decrease, with the prices of silver carp, crucian and large yellow croaker experiencing the sharpest decrease by 2.8%, 0.6 and 0.4% respectively. The wholesale price of meat continued to fall. Among these, the prices of pork, beef and mutton were 17.48 yuan, 51.96 yuan and 49.41 yuan per kilogram, down 0.6%, 0.2% and 0.1% respectively. The wholesale price of edible oil decreased in general, with the prices of peanut oil, soybean oil and rapeseed oil down 0.5%, 0.4% and 0.4% respectively. The wholesale prices of grain and food decreased slightly, with the prices of flour and rice down 0.3% and 0.2% respectively. The wholesale price of poultry rose in general. Among these, the prices of duck, eggs and chicken were 17.31 yuan, 8.53 yuan and 15.91 yuan per kilogram respectively, up 2%, 0.7% and 0.5% respectively.

In the market of production means, the price of non-ferrous metal increased by 2.3%, with the prices of aluminum, nickel, zinc, copper and tin up 3.8%, 3.2%, 2.7%, 1.6% and 1.4% respectively and that of lead staying unchanged. The price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 0.8%, with the prices of methyl alcohol, sodium carbonate and caustic soda up 3%, 1.9% and 0.6% respectively and that of sulphuric acid down 0.5%. The price of steel increased by 0.6%, and the prices of high-speed wire rod, hot-rolled strip steel, screw-thread steel and common round steel were 4023 yuan, 4181 yuan, 3935 yuan and 4087 yuan per ton, up 1%, 0.9%, 0.8% and 0.7% respectively. The price of rubber remained stable, with the price of natural rubber down 0.1% and that of synthetic rubber up 0.1%. The price of chemical fertilizer decreased by 0.1%, with the prices of KCL, DAP and NPK all down 0.2% and that of urea staying unchanged. The price of coal decreased by 0.6%, and the prices of steam coal, blind coal and coking coal were 599 yuan, 846 yuan and 740 yuan per ton respectively, down 0.7%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively.
