China and Nepal Sign the Agreement on Promoting Investment and Economic Cooperation Framework between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Nepal

On August 15 2017, witnessed by Vice Premier Wang Yang and the Vice Premier of Nepal and Minister of Federal Affairs and Local Development Gachhadar, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce and Chinese Deputy Representative of International Trade Yu Jianhua and the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Nepal Shanta Raj Subedi,on behalf of the government of their own country, signed the Agreement on Promoting Investment and Economic Cooperation Framework between the Governments of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Nepal in Katmandu.

The agreement defines the principles, fields, modes, facilitation and guarantee measures, executing agencies and working mechanism of the bilateral investment and cooperation, etc. It also stipulates how to define and support preferences. The signing of this agreement is conducive to further strengthening the communication between the governments, enterprises and other organizations of the two countries, promoting the sound and stable development of China-Nepal investment cooperation, pushing forward the construction of the Belt and Road and guaranteeing the rights and interests of Chinese enterprises in Nepal.
