On May 9, Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan and the Vice Premier and Minister of Finance of Nepal Krishna Bahadur Mahara officially signed the MOU on Constructing China-Nepal Cross-border Economic Cooperation Zone between the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Industry of Nepal (hereinafter referred to as the MOU), making one of the important achievements of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

The construction of China-Nepal cross-border economic cooperation zone opened up a new way for trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and a new mode for border cooperation. This is conducive to further deepening the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and promoting the prosperity, stability and common development of border regions of the two countries.
