GENEVA, August 17, Mr. Roberto Azevedo, director-general of WTO, appointed Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, China’s permanent representative to WTO, Mr. Karl-Ernst Brauner, vice minister of Economy and Technology (BMWI), German, Mr. Yonov Frederick Agah, Nigeria's permanent representative to WTO and Mr. David Shark, the United States' permanent representative to WTO as the deputy director-general of WTO.

MOFCOM Spokesman Yao Jian made comments on it. He mentioned that China applauded the appointment of Mr. Yi Xiaozhun by Mr. Roberto Azevedo. It does not only recognize Mr. Yi Xiaozhun’s personal ability but also the positive and constructive role China and the developing countries play in WTO.
　　
Mr. Yao Jian said that China will continue to deepen the cooperation relation with WTO, support director-general’s work, and make her own contributions to multi-lateral trade system and global governance.
