The 19th Round Sino-Australian FTA Negotiations Successful

The 19th Round Sino-Australian FTA Negotiations was held in Beijing from June 4th to June 6th. The Two Sides made in-depth consultations and discussions, maintained a good momentum, and made a sound foundation for substantive breakthrough at the next step. Both sides attached great importance to this round of negotiations. Yu Jianhua, Assistant Minister of Commerce of China, met with Australian major figures before the Negotiations and Ms. Frances Adamson, Australia’s Ambassador to China, attended the Closing Ceremony.

In recent years, Sino-Australian bilateral trade maintained steady and rapid growth. At present, Australia is China’s eighth largest trading partner, ninth largest export market and seventh largest import source. The establishment of China-Australian FTA is of great significance for the advancement of both trade and economic cooperation and the consolidation of Sino- Australian bilateral relations.
