MOFCOM decided, according to relevant provisions of Rules of the People's Republic of China on Anti-dumping and Rules of the People's Republic of China on Countervailing, to launch anti-dumping and countervailing investigation on imports of EU wines.

MOFCOM has received the application of domestic wine industry, in which the industry accused the wine imports from EU are subsidized and dumped in China’s market and the imports have an impact on China’s wine industry. China’s wine industry asked MOFCOM to launch anti-dumping and countervailing investigation.

Officials of Bureau of Fair Trade for Imports and Exports of MOFCOM pointed out that China is always cautious about the utilization of trade remedy measures. We noticed that imports of EU wines grew rapidly indeed in quantity in recent years, to which MOFCOM will conduct a strict investigation according to law.
