China's FDI inflow increases 16.4% year-on-year to RMB892.74 billion from January to August 2022

From January to August 2022, the paid-in FDI in China reached RMB892.74 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.4% (same below), equivalent to USD138.41 billion, up by 20.2%.

In terms of industry, the paid-in FDI for services was RMB662.13 billion, up by 8.7%. The paid-in FDI for high-tech industries grew by 33.6%. In breakdown, the paid-in FDI for high-tech manufacturing and services increased by 43.1% and 31% respectively.

In terms of the source of FDI, the paid-in FDI from Korea, Germany, Japan and the UK rose by 58.9%, 30.3%, 26.8% and 17.2% respectively (including investment via free ports).

In terms of regional distribution, the paid-in FDI in eastern, central and western China increased by 14.3%, 27.6% and 43% respectively.
