On September 1st, the US went ahead with the 15% tariff on first batch of Chinese goods worth USD300 billion. China brought a lawsuit against the US under the WTO dispute settlement mechanism. The tariffs measures are a serious departure from the leaders’ agreement in Osaka, and China is strongly dissatisfied with and opposed to them. China will firmly defend our legitimate interests in accordance with WTO rules and safeguard the multilateral trading system and international trading order.
