| The Ministry of Commerce Holds a Symposium on the Link between Apple Production and Marketing in Shaanxi |

 On December 17, the Ministry of Commerce held a symposium in Xi'an on the link between Shaanxi’s apple production and marketing to analyze the apple production, marketing and export situation in Shaanxi, to study and solve the difficulties and problems currently encountered by enterprises in the process of production and operation, and to organize the production and marketing enterprises to conduct the on-the-spot link, and discuss operation intention so as to expand the sales of apple and ease the pressure of difficulty in selling. This meeting was held against the background that the interim draggy sale and difficult selling occurred to the apple in Shaanxi due to the influence of the international financial crisis and other factors. Participating business units and enterprises expressed one after another that they would take emergency measures such as strengthening the information communication, intensifying the link between supply and marketing, enhancing the sales promotion, and stabilizing the export channels to speed up the progress of the apple sales in Shaanxi. Meanwhile, such measures as readjusting industrial structure and improving varieties, improving the marketing network at home and abroad, promoting the standardization of plantation, production and packaging, expanding the brand awareness and its influence, and perfecting the related supporting policies and supportive measures should be adopted in order to enhance the competitive ability of Shaanxi’s apple in the domestic and international market, reduce the impact on apple’s production and sales brought about by market fluctuation, and promote a steady and healthy development of the apple industry of Shaanxi. During this symposium, the production and marketing enterprises have reached some purchase and sale cooperation intention. With various measures to solve the problems of poor sales and difficulty in selling having been implemented and put in place, recently the apple's sale progress in Shaanxi has accelerated, and prices have appeared to pick up steadily. Nearly 60 people took part in the on-the-spot link symposium including more than 30 units, production and marketing enterprises, and news media such as China National Agricultural Wholesale Market Association ( CAWA), China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, the competent departments in charge of commercial affairs and fruit industry of Shaanxi, Beijing’s Xinfadi agricultural product wholesale market, Beijing's Baliqiao Wholesale Market Center of Agricultural Products, Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Metro, China Resources Vanguard, Trust-Mart, RT-Mart, Lotus, Shaanxi Haisheng Fresh Fruit Juice Co., Ltd., Huasheng Fruit Co., Ltd., Hengxing Juice Co., Ltd.. Some units and enterprise representatives participated in this meeting also made a special trip to some main apple producing areas like Qian County, Liquan County to conduct a field survey and research so as to have a detailed understanding on apple production, purchase, storage, processing, sales and price and so on. |
