On December 12, 2008, Industry Transfer Promotion Center (Shanghai Base of MOFCOM) Unveiling Ceremony and the Fourth Middle Exhibition Industry Transfer Project Conference was held in Shanghai. The participants included Wei Jianguo, Former Vice Minister of MOFCOM, Tang Dengjie, Vice Mayor of Shanghai and Wen Haiying, Deputy Governor of Anhui Province. It is learned that MOFCOM will set up a number of Industry Transfer Promotion Centers (Center) along eastern coastal area like Shanghai and Jiangsu. This Shanghai-based center, the second such center after Kunshan Base, is co-established by MOFCOM, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and Shanghai Caohejing Hi-tech Park and participated by provinces in middle and west China that are stationed in the Center. This Center is equipped with a middle and west region exhibition zone which provides a platform for the provinces wherefrom to advocate investment environment, engage in business negotiations and reach out to other regions and offers a good channel for coastal regions to effectively seek places for business transfer. The Center will help facilitate the transfer of international industries and industries in eastern coastal regions to the middle and western part of China. It will build up the capability of these to take on these businesses. It will also help improve the level Shanghai-represented Yangtze River Delta Region’s participation into world division and competition, contribute to their modern service industry, manufacturing and high-tech industry and realize industrial upgrading. |
