China-EU agreement on textile "double-check system"

Following the agreement of China and EU over textile export, the two sides agreed to establish a "double-check system" in bilateral textile trade on September 28. The check system will cover 8 categories of goods, including T-shirts, pullovers, trousers, bed sheet, and bras, which are to be monitored from January 1, 2008 through the end of the year. China will issue licenses to its textile exporters and EU will adopt the automatic import license system.
